Who for?Individuals with financial challenges, struggling self employed people and small business owners who are at risk of financial hardship and those who need to improve their employability/ career progression to avoid financial difficulties.
Using the same coaching principles we empower the homeless and those at risk of homelessness to manage their own home and move toward improvement and personal growth. |
Why do you have a coach when you're paying for it but a support worker when you're not?
Every one of us could be just one bad circumstance away from financial hardship that could put our homes at risk. We don't use terms that cause stigma such as 'project', 'therapy', 'keywork', 're-hab' and so on. When people access our services, no matter where the entry point is, they begin a coaching relationship with us and can continue to access services as long as their situation carries a risk of financial hardship or homelessness.
So, what is a home?
Most websites have a Home page. This got us thinking; why a 'Home' page? What is it about the first page of a website that demands such a title? The truth is, it should be called 'The Front Door'. Everything that is, and everything that happens, behind the 'front door' is what makes a home. A website is made up of many pages, just like a home is made up of many rooms, but it is the people that look after it, that join us and make their 'home' here by caring about it and regularly visiting, that make it a home to enjoy.
Housing isn't enough. At Heart for Chorley we put the people at the centre of our work because a home is not made up of bricks and mortar. It is made up of people, relationships and experiences. We thought we would share one of the many scribble pad sheets that have helped us along this journey: |
